Dear members,

The board of the PAI wish to call an EGM on the 9th of July 2010, in Lawlors Hotel Naas at 8pm, to propose a change to articles 40f and 40g of the PAI 'Articles of association'.
These articles relate to the safety and training committee and who can be involved.
we feel the need to change articles 40f and 40g at this present time to increase the amount of people that can chair and vote on the safty and training committee.we also hope it will encourage more people to get involved in how the sport evolves in this country.
see below the wording of proposed change:

Article 40 (f) will read after the change:
The PAI Board of Directors shall appoint the Chairperson of the Safety and Training Committee. This person must as a minimum be the holder of a PAI Instructor Rating with not less than 2 years experience, a PAI Tandem Master Rating with not less than 2 years experience or a PAI Senior rigger, and be a current PAI Member. The chairperson of the Safety & Training Committee is an ex officio member of the PAI board of directors, and normally chairs the safety and training committee, and normally chairs the safety and training forums. If the Safety and Training Chairperson is not available to chair a meeting, the PAI Board of Directors is to be notified, and will in turn nominate an acting chairperson for the Safety and Training Meeting that is being convened. In order to avoid a conflict of interest, the Chairperson may NOT also hold office as a Chief Club Instructor at an affiliated centre.

Article 40 (g) will read after the change:
The Voting Members of the Safety and Training Committee are all current PAI Members, holding a Chief Club Instructors rating, Chief Pilot of an affiliated centre, an Instructor nominated from each affiliated centre, a PAI Tandem Master nominated from each affiliated centre, and a Rigger nominated from each affiliated centre, and the Chairperson.
